1. 10. 2020The ambitious Fragment residential project will greatly expand the offer of rental housing in Prague. Developed by Trigema, its design is the result of the collaboration between the Qarta Architecture studio and the artist David Černý. The Svoboda & Williams real estate agency has been exclusively appointed to rent of 140 premium units in the building. Construction officially commenced on October 1st during the groundbreaking ceremony.
Fragment is the first bold project that will hopefully be one of many that have the potential to enliven Prague’s contemporary urban architecture. The appearance of the building refers back to Invalidovna’s original purpose and builds an imaginary bridge between history and the present as it evokes a reclining figure being taken care of by David Černý’s grand sculptures. The shape of the apartments’ rooms will mirror the repeating modules that the building is made up of, which create a fragmented impression when seen from afar.
Fragment also carefully selected its location—right across from the Invalidovna national cultural monument by Kaizlovy sady Park, only 200 meters from the Invalidovna metro station (line B).
Rough construction will be completed by the end of next year. Final approval and the grand opening will take place in the second half of 2022. Trigema is the investor, developer, and builder of the Fragment rental housing project.
