Fragment Receives Further Awards, Scoring in Two Competitions at Once

As part of the Building of the Year 2023 (Stavba roku) competition, Fragment received an award for its architectural concept and execution using a BIM model. It also went on to secure two honors at the CIJ Awards, where it was named Best Residential Development with more than 60 apartments and Best Architectural Development of the Year.
Building of the Year (Stavba roku) is a Czech nationwide, public, non-anonymous construction competition established in 1992 to introduce a system for evaluating and presenting the overall quality of buildings. It is organized by the ABF – Foundation for the Development of Architecture and Construction, with support from key partners such as the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
In the Building of the Year 2023 competition, Fragment won an award for its architectural concept and execution using a BIM model. The project documentation was fully developed within BIM; the model served as the basis for construction, ensuring simpler and clearer data management, drawing documentation, and bills of quantities. The digital model of Fragment was created at approximately LOD 300, with all model elements carrying precise information value. The model is intended for future building management.
Beyond the successful run of Karlín’s new icon, we have another award-winning project! Among 38 nominees from across the country, the P+R parking garage in our home district of Nové Butovice received an award for its architectural concept. While P+R garages are primarily practical solutions to parking shortages, they can also be architecturally impressive – as is the case with the Petržílkova parking garage and its façade of aluminum slats.
CIJ Awards Czech Republic
CIJ EUROPE, a provider of digital and print real estate news in Central and Eastern Europe, hosted the 23rd annual CIJ Awards Czech Republic in the center of Prague this year. The CIJ Awards are the longest-running commercial real estate event in the Czech Republic and have continuously evolved over the past 23 years to keep pace with changes in the local, regional, and international real estate markets.
In this competition, Fragment secured two awards, being named Best Residential Development with more than 60 apartments and Best Architectural Development of the Year.
